    Born in 1985 in Beirut, Carine Bovey lives and works in Geneva. In parallel with her art, she worked for a long time in the press and in advertising in the luxury and fashion sector. In her work, she often uses unusual materials such as saffron and eye shadow in addition to oil paint. Like the biophilia hypothesis, the artist highlights the similarities that remain between our anatomy and plants, but also our instinctive affinity for life uniting us with all living entities. The artist is also interested in the origins of life and the advances in science and medicine. Making what at first glance might seem taboo beautiful and acceptable is one of his primary vocations.

    Carine Bovey som föddes 1985 i Beirut är en konstnär baserad i Genève. Parallellt med sitt konstnärskap arbetade hon länge inom pressen och med reklam inom lyx- och modesektorn. I sitt arbete använder hon ofta ovanliga material som saffran och ögonskugga förutom oljefärg. Liksom biofilihypotesen lyfter konstnären fram de likheter som finns kvar mellan vår anatomi och växter, men också vår instinktiva affinitet för livet som förenar oss med alla levande varelser. Konstnären är också intresserad av livets ursprung och framstegen inom vetenskap och medicin. Att göra det som vid första anblicken kan verka tabu vackert och acceptabelt är en av hans främsta yrken.

    Née en 1985 à Beyrouth, Carine Bovey vit et travaille à Genève. En parallèle de son art, elle a longuement travaillé dans la presse et dans la publicité dans le secteur du luxe et de la mode. Dans son travail, elle utilise souvent des matériaux insolites tels que du safran et des ombres à paupière en complément de la peinture à l’huile. À l’image de l’hypothèse de biophilie, l’artiste met en avant les similitudes qui subsistent entre notre anatomie et le végétal, mais aussi notre affinité instinctive pour la vie nous unissant avec toutes les entités vivantes. L’artiste s’intéresse également aux origines de la vie, aux avancées de la science et de la médecine. Rendre beau et acceptable ce qui a priori pourrait sembler tabou est l’une de ses premières vocations.
